ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE AND THE CHURCH OF SAINT MARTIN
The archaeological site, located next to the church of St. Martina na Ivinje, is located at the bottom of the Pirovački canal. There are three dominant groups of archaeological and historical layers on the site. The earliest phase is the ancient villa rustica, then the early Christian three-nave church with a baptistery, and then the medieval cemetery connected to the church of St. Martin. This archaeological site is one of the most valuable archaeological sites in Dalmatia, considering the large number of finds from different historical layers. The site was investigated and expertly preserved, and the Archaeological Collection of St. Martina, which is located in the basement of the villa Katunarić in Tisno, in order to bring the importance of such a site closer to the local population, as well as tourists.

Three dominant archaeological groups
Ancient villa rustica
The earliest phase is the ancient villa rustica. The villa was of a rural - economic type, and it occupied almost the entire space of today's archaeological site.
Early Christian period
In the 4th or 5th century, an early Christian religious building was built in the western part of the complex. As the number of believers increased, the shape of the building also changed.
Medival period
The church of St. Martin and the cemetery around it were built on the site of the former villa and the old Christian church. Research revealed 11 late antique and 486 medieval graves.
