Romanesque church
CHURCH OF SAINT MARTIN
- The Romanesque church of St. Martin is a one-nave building with a prominent round apse, and its dimensions are 12.22 x 6.5 m. The main entrance in the form of a Romanesque portal with a lunette is located on the southern side wall. The year 1488 is carved into the top of the lunette arch, which could refer to some kind of reconstruction. Under the roof, on the left side of the portal, there are three stone consoles that probably supported the canopy. The facade consists of a simple portal and three narrow windows, and above the pediment is a belfry on a nacelle from a later period.
- At the top of the apse is a small Romanesque arched window.
- The interior of the church is divided by two pairs of couches, and on the eastern wall, next to the altar, the remains of medieval frescoes with the image of Saint Martin were found.
- It was mentioned for the first time in 1396.
- In the late Middle Ages, it was the parish church of the Ivinj parish to which three settlements belonged: Ivinj, Oštrica and Jurjevgrad (today Tribunj) -> 1460. later it was separated into a separate parish
- The year 1548:
- Unverified information states that in that year the Turks burned down the Ivinj settlement and the church of St. Martin, but if the church really perished, it was rebuilt soon after, as its judges are mentioned in 1564.
- In the same year, with the consecration of the Church of the Holy Spirit, a new parish was founded in Tisno.
